HENLEY Brook’s Peter Lyndon-James will find out on Sunday if he is a winner in the 2017 West Australian of The Year Awards.
Nominated in the Local Hero category, Mr Lyndon-James is the manager and full-time volunteer at men’s rehabilitation centre Shalom House, where he helps to restore the lives of up to 60 men at a time struggling with addiction.
A former addict himself, he offers a holistic rehabilitation program that focuses on the whole person to bring restoration to all areas of residents’ lives.
Mr Lyndon-James is up against outdoor play champion Griffin Longley of Fremantle, conservation and sustainability champion Michael Normal of Sorrento, and anti-alcohol activist June Oscar AO of Fitzroy Crossing.
Other categories include the 2017 WA Australian of the Year, WA Senior of the Year and WA Young Australian of the year, all of which will be announced at Government House on Sunday.
