Western swamp tortoise habitats to get makeover at Ellen Brook Nature Reserve

HABITATS for the western swamp tortoise will be improved at Ellen Brook Nature Reserve on Sunday, June 12.

Friends of the Western Swamp Tortoise, the Department of Parks and Wildlife and World Wildlife Fund Australia will plant local provenance tubestock at the reserve for the endangered species.

To help, meet at Lexia Avenue at 9.30am for a 10am start.

Work will finish about noon and a light lunch will be provided.

Wear gumboots or sturdy enclosed footwear, sunscreen and long pants.

Gloves and tools will be provided.
