WHITEMAN Edge residents are invited to a Brazilian-themed block party tomorrow

Hosted by developer Stockland, the area will transform into a carnival atmosphere to celebrate the official launch of a new display village at the Brabham community.

Performers donning traditional Brazilian costumes will line the streets for music, dancing, singing and drumming to signal the opening of the 18-home display village.

Food vans, a Brazilian barbecue, traditional art and craft activities for kids, Capoeira workshops and chill out zones for families will also be on offer, as well as free coffee and Brazilian beverage taste testing.

Stockland WA general manager Col Dutton said the party promised to be a lot of fun.

“We are delighted that our new Whiteman Edge display is complete and we are looking forward to having locals and visitors from around the region come along to help us celebrate the official opening,’’ Mr Dutton said.

“This colourful event is sure to bring a smile to the faces of people attending and it is a great way for friends and family to catch up and enjoy some free entertainment.

“In addition, people will be able to wander through all of the new homes on display and be amazed by the innovative designs that cater to every budget.”

Mr Dutton said that there had never been a better time to buy a new home.

The government has offered a one-off incentive at Whiteman Edge that gives eligible buyers $20,000 off their purchase.

“In addition, buyers who qualify for the $10,000 First Home Owners Grant have the potential to save $30,000 off their house and land package,” he said.

The celebrations will be held between 11am and 3pm at the new display village on Kasanka Avenue, Brabham.
