A RECENTLY completed mural at Whiteman Park’s Tractor Museum will be officially unveiled next week.

Local amateur artists The Ellenbrook Art Group painted the mural, which depicts rusted old farm tractors and machinery.

The project – funded by a successful grant application to the City of Swan – was initiated to add to the agricultural diversity for the museum’s displays.

Tractor Museum volunteer Ron Waterhouse said the museum was grateful for the grant, which also helped the Ellenbrook Art Group expand their artistic horizons.

“The mural is in a position where it can be seen from most areas within the museum display area,” he said.

“The painting itself is 6m long by 1.5m high, and as a lead in to the main painting, two small paintings will be hung at the entrance.

“This is along with the 80 odd tractors, farm machinery and country life artefacts, as well as a complete genuine 1930s original farm homestead on display.”

The unveiling will take place on Sunday, November 13, which is also a Tractor Parade day.

The parade runs from 1.15pm-1.45pm and the unveiling will be at 2.45pm.

Swan Mayor Mick Wainwright will officiate the unveiling.
