Workshops for playgroup parents

Workshops for playgroup parents

Presented by St John Ambulance, parents learnt the basics in the Infant Resuscitation Workshop, including treating bites and stings, helping someone who is choking and treating cuts.

Getting messy was on the agenda at the second workshop, presented by senior dietician Nicole Rumsey.

Parents learnt about basic nutrition, fussy eaters and staying healthy before getting their hands dirty helping the children dig mini vegetable patches. Bindoon Playgroup, together with the Shire of Chittering, are holding a program of workshops and seminars called the Proud Parenting Program (PPP).

The program is aimed at increasing the capacity of parents to contribute positively to their children’s education, social development, physical development and psychological health and wellbeing.
