Swan Mayor Mick Wainwright said the Salvos’ food drive and toy appeal was a great way for Australians to help spread Christmas cheer to those who need it most.
“While many of us are busy making plans for Christmas with family or friends, others are worrying about whether they can provide their family with Christmas dinner or presents,” Cr Wainwright said.
“That is why we are imploring the community to get behind the Christmas appeal and donate what they can, because even the smallest gesture can make a big difference.”

Swan Valley/Gidgegannup Ward Councillor Rod Henderson said donations of gifts and food were needed most.
“For some children, the toy you donate will be the only gift they receive this Christmas,” he said.
Drop your donations to the Swan Valley Visitor Centre between 9am and 4pm, seven days a week (excluding Christmas Day), which is located at the corner of Swan and Meadow streets in Guildford
Donations must be received before midday on Wednesday, December 14.
