They will both be held at the Karratha International Hotel.

On July 8th, a well-known Perth based cybersecurity services company, Asterisk, is providing an introduction into cybersecurity and offers businesses an interactive session of how to better protect their business from cyber intruders.

On July 9, Professor Craig Valli, who has more than 30 years of experience in the information and communication technology industry and regularly consults to government on cybersecurity and digital forensics matters will be the presenter to company owners, investors and board members.

In his afternoon session, Craig will give participants practical ways to increase their cyber awareness and defence.

The masterclass will focus on any small business that has contracts with mining, oil and gas companies or who supply to Local and State Government.

As well as being the Director of the Edith Cowan University Security Research Institute, Craig is a Professor of Digital Forensics, a Fellow of the Australian Computer Society and Director of the Australian Computer Society Centre of Expertise in Security at ECU.

He also currently holds the position of Research Director for the Australian Cyber Security Research Institute, is a member of the High Tech Crime Investigators Association (Australian Chapter), and the INTERPOL Cyber Crime Experts Group.

He serves on several cybersecurity-related conference committees and journal editorial boards, and is also the founder and current Chair of the Australian Digital Forensics Conference.

In this workshop he will step company owners and decision makers through the emerging risks of personal and company attacks.

Both sessions will cover the value of cybersecurity awareness and preventative measures to a company’s bottom line.
