Lucy JarvisThe Advocate

Ellenbrook residents Jeremy Garcia (18) and Lewis Bower (12), plus Yanchep’s Danie-Louis Oosthuizen (14), competed in the April 8-12 championships and brought back several medals.

“Competing in clout, field, target, short course and matchplay events, the young archers shot the tournament over four full days in some very challenging conditions against Australia’s best,” club committee member Tamara Locke said.

“Danie-Louis won gold medals in field and team matchplay and a silver medal in target. Lewis claimed a bronze medal for clout.”

“They are looking forward to being able to qualify again next year and have inspired some of their fellow club members to compete too.”
