Cricket: Midland-Guildford puts out call for more female players

MIDLAND-Guildford Cricket Club is seeking junior girls to play for the club this season.

One of the most successful cricket clubs in WA, the Lilac Hill-based club will be fielding 14 teams in the various WACA competitions.

This includes girls’ under-15s and under-18s, as well as women’s A and B grade, both of which won the premiership last season.

Many female players from Midland-Guildford represent WA and Australia in women’s cricket, forming part of the recently added Perth Scorchers Big Bash and Western Fury teams.

In January, the club and the community will achieve a significant milestone, as it will host four Women’s Big Bash League games at Lilac Hill.

The club is seeking more young girls to play in the junior teams and be apart of an exciting future in female cricket at Midland-Guildford.
