THE Perth Scorchers have qualified for their first Women’s Big Bash League final after a strong semi-final performance against Brisbane Heat at the WACA today.
The Scorchers easily chased down the visitor’s total of 5-124, securing a nine-wicket win with 26 balls to spare.
Midland-Guildford product and opening batter Elyse Villani scored 52 not out off 48 balls, reaching her half-century and finishing the game with a four.

Skipper Suzie Bates was the other unbeaten batter, finishing with 27 off 22 balls.
The Heat, which was struggling at 1-46 after 10 overs, overcame a sluggish start to post 5-124.
Spinner Emma King was the best of the Scorchers bowlers, scoring 2-17 off four overs.
The team will take on the winner of tomorrow’s second semi-final between the Sydney Sixers and Hobart Hurricanes at the Gabba.
The Scorchers men take on the Melbourne Stars at the WACA Ground this afternoon for a place in Saturday’s BBL final.
Both the men’s and women’s finals will be played in Perth should they win.
