Football: Ellenbrook Eels go top with 16-point win over Coolbinia

The Ellenbrook Eels managed to secure top spot on the ladder on the weekend with an impressive win over a tough side in Coolbinia West Perth.

Nearly losing a six-goal lead, coach Justin Wood led from the front with an impressive last two quarters to secure the 16-point victory.

The win is the third win in a row for the team, 13.6-84 to 10.8-68.

Club president Andrew Coxall said the team were going from strength to strength.

“This shows our clubs depth and much improved culture with three former colts playing their first game and impressing the selectors,” he said.

The Eels will play against fifth-placed Piara Waters this week at their home ground.
