Football: Ellenbrook lose 49-68 to Piara Waters

Adrian HughesThe Advocate

ELLENBROOK played away from home at the weekend with reserves and league in a semi-final.

Reserve grade battled against Piara Waters only to lose their first game of the year by 19 points. Coach Kevin Andrews’ stern address at three quarter-time lifted the players’ spirits but it wasn’t enough to win. Final score 10.8 (68) to 7.7 (49).

The league team started strong against Snesa in a fast-paced physical game that featured a high skill level from both sides. Going into the second half down by four goals, club captain Matt Craig led his team in a resurgence to come within just a few points of the lead but unfortunately this was not enough to win the final. Final score 14.6 (900 to 9.10 (64).
