ELLENBROOK played away from home at the weekend with reserves and league in a semi-final.

Reserve grade battled against Piara Waters only to lose their first game of the year by 19 points. Coach Kevin Andrews’ stern address at three quarter-time lifted the players’ spirits but it wasn’t enough to win. Final score 10.8 (68) to 7.7 (49).

The league team started strong against Snesa in a fast-paced physical game that featured a high skill level from both sides. Going into the second half down by four goals, club captain Matt Craig led his team in a resurgence to come within just a few points of the lead but unfortunately this was not enough to win the final. Final score 14.6 (900 to 9.10 (64).

The loss wasn’t what Ellenbrook wanted, especially marking 150 club games for club legend Duncan Roger but, all three sides now host a home game this Saturday. The winners will go into next week’s grand final.

The colts start at 10.30am against Jandakot, reserves at 12.30pm against Cottesloe and the league at 2.30pm against Dianella Morley.
