Junior State Motocross Championship: youngster Regan Duffy has lead in sights

LOCAL youngster Regan Duffy will be looking to improve his position when round three of the junior State Motocross Championships hits Coastal Park in Henderson this Sunday.

He is currently coming third in the 100cc-125cc 13-15 years division, just 13 points behind series leader Corben Weinert on 176 and Mat Fabry on 175.

Weinert is also contesting the 85cc/150cc 12-16 years division where he is coming second on 195, trailing Brady Gilmore on 199 and ahead of Rhys Burnett on 176.

Meanwhile, Brady’s younger brother Myles is also leading the pack, with 199 points in the 85cc/150cc 9-12 years division, followed by Liam Atkinson on 176 and Brock Flynn on 169 and 201 points in the 65cc 10-12 years, again followed by Atkinson on 195 and Flynn on 180.

Fabry is leading the 128cc-150cc/250cc 13-16 years on 190 points from Billy Middleton on 172 and Kai Stephen on 167, with Middleton and Stephen both on 180 points in the 100cc-125cc 15 years, behind Mitch Outram on 197.

Kayden Minear leads the 65cc 7-10 years on 201 points from Seth Clark on 192 and Deacon Paice on 170 and is coming second in the 50cc auto on 175 points behind Patrick Butler on 191 and just ahead of Seth Shackleton on 172.

Round three will see the return of the 50cc nipper class and organisers hope enough girls have entered the junior girls’ state championship to contest defending champion Tahlia O’Hare.
