Advocate photographer in line for sports photography award

ONE of our football photographers has been recognised nationally for his photographs.

Dan White, who photographs AFL and WAFL matches, was named a finalist in Melbourne last week for the Australian Institute of Professional Photographers’ 2016 Sports Photographer of the Year.

He finished in the top three and it is the second consecutive year he ahs finished as a finalist.

His two colour images received a silver award and his two black and white pictures, including a boundary side dust-up between West Coast Eagles and Richmond, received silver with distinction.

Judging for the sports category took three hours.
