Pretty good effort from golfers

The event encourages girls five to 18 years to compete in a friendly and supportive environment.

Tournament organiser Mark Tibbles said the competition helped grow the game at grass roots level.

Some of the local girls did particularly well, with Brooke Price from The Vines winning the 11-14 years division, Grace Operchal from The Vines finishing runner up in the 10 and under division, Talia Range from Aveley finishing third in the nine-hole beginners competition and Morgan Pires from The Vines awarded Prettiest in Pink for the best dressed.
