New signing Paul McCafferty was named in the starting line-up for the senior team and could not have dreamed of a better start to his debut when he scored the opener for the Brook 20 minutes into the game.

However, the excitement was short-lived as Joondalup scored two goals before half-time.

Ellenbrook came out strongly at the start of the second half, dominating possession, but soon after Joondalup piled on three goals to stretch the lead to a decisive 5-1 at full time.

Earlier in the day, the under-18s posted a great 3-2 win.

The reserves were not as fortunate and went down 5-0.

The 4-0 win was Perth’s fifth consecutive victory away from home, securing second spot on the NPL ladder after eight rounds.

Pritchard fired home the first goal in the 29th minute after being set up by Ashley Rosindale. The same combination was responsible for the second goal 10 minutes later.

Da Luz sealed the three points early in the second half, when his shot from inside the box went through several ECU Joondalup defenders and past goalkeeper Andy Banks.
