THE Ellenbrook United Football Club’s Under 9 A-team has made a stunning comeback at the business end of the season.
Coach Jack Fanari said the team had a shaky start to the season, but after taking over the reins, the boys became more motivated.
“We started working hard as a team, doing extra training and they started winning a few games.”
Last week, the Ellenbrook fighters faced the top team in the league, Balcatta, who had been undefeated for three years. After losing 7-1 earlier this season, the side was out to prove something.
“With 10 minutes to go, Leonardo Fanari scored the only and winning goal of the match. It was just beautiful to see so many people joining in to celebrate the goal.
“Since we started this new adventure together, we have won most of our games, drawing twice and only losing once,” Mr Fanari said.
