The duo, who have worked together in the past, started the city-based IT company Squarealpha two months ago.
The company provides IT solutions to small- and median-sized businesses.
‘Our aim is to allow businesses to work more efficiently, grow faster and be more productive through the use of technology and technical solutions,’ Mr Song said.
‘We’re about building a solution that works in with each unique business.’
Mr Ticehurst said they had wanted to start a business together for the past four years.
‘We worked in large enterprises so we know how the services are provided there,’ he said.
‘The small- to medium-sized market do not see that level of service. We are using our knowledge and applying it to that market.’
As for the business name, Mr Song said they shied away from a technical name and wanted something to build a brand around.
‘It’s an illusion to thinking outside the square,’ he said.
