Aldi coming to town

Aldi Australia announced it would spend about $400 million expanding into WA, with plans for 70 discount supermarket stores. Joondalup will have one of the first, which is expected to open mid-2016.

‘Our WA stores are in various stages of planning but we expect our Joondalup store will be approximately 1500sq m, with 1000sq m of retail space and supported by about 15 to 20 employees,’ an Aldi Australia spokesperson said.

Other confirmed sites to open in 2016 include Cannington, Southern River, Halls Head, Kwinana, Rockingham, Australind, South Lake, Camillo, Midland, Mundaring and Ellenbrook.
