Run by husband and wife team Lisa and Jason Spark, the business also won the association’s Innovation Award.

It was also recently selected for the High Performance Manufacturing Workplaces Study run by the University of Melbourne’s Centre for Workplace Leadership, supported by the Federal Government.

‘It was really flattering to be chosen out of all the manufacturing businesses in WA,’ Mrs Spark said.

‘Our case study shows that you can manufacture in Australia and still be successful.’

Quality Printers and Cartridges was a finalist in the Green Business Excellence category at last year’s AIM WA WestBusiness Pinnacle Awards, alongside Serco Australia and Rio Tinto, but hopes to take out top honours this year at the November 27 event.

Mrs Spark said the award would mean a lot to her and her husband as the winner would receive $10,000 to donate to a charity of their choice.

‘We have chosen Parkinson’s WA, this is due to Jason’s mum having a long battle with Parkinson’s disease and she was also our inspiration to start QPC,’ she said.

‘It’s not about us; it’s to know that our efforts have gone towards donating to the charity.’
