NORTHERN suburbs residents won’t have to travel far to try out the latest fad following the opening of an axe-throwing venue in Wangara.
Maxed Out Axe Throwing opened on September 10, a few days after a similar venue, Lumberpunks, opened in East Perth and ahead of a third venue, Maniax, opening in Northbridge on September 14.
Owner Simon Gray said he the idea for the Buckingham Drive business was born in a few short seconds after seeing his sister take part in axe throwing at a work function in Canada.

READ NOWAs a lover of all things to do with wood and axes, he knew straight away it was something he had to try for himself and with no venues in Perth yet, decided to create his own.
With the help from his father, co-founder Lyric Erceg and other close friends, Mr Gray built Maxed Out in an industrial unit in Wangara.
“Maxed Out is designed to be a place to come and try something new and exciting, in a safe way,” he said.
Mr Gray said he and Mr Erceg were “excited to show people how to throw an axe, so they can share in the satisfaction of seeing and hearing their axe fly throw the air, and stick into a wooden target”.
