A BEACHFRONT bar in Perth’s northern suburbs is set to open next week.

The Amberton Beach Bar and Kitchen overlooking the ocean in Eglinton is expected to open on November 14, trading from 11am to late daily.

The venue at Stockland’s Amberton Beach estate was the brainchild of Tillbrook Melaleuka Group’s John Dawkins, who owns CY O’Connor Village Pub and Hybla Tavern.

“When Stockland Amberton Beach became a possibility we jumped at it, as we may never again have such an opportunity in a prime location like this,” Mr Dawkins said.

“Whilst our core business is to provide great food, beverage and service to our valued locals, we also have an opportunity to create some breathtaking sessions and events which could make Amberton Beach an iconic location.”

Simon Paul of Mode Design designed the venue and the fit-out was influenced by the location, with indoor and outdoor seating options, a window system to suit the Perth weather, and colour palettes inspired by weathered and burnt driftwood and windswept vegetation.

The venue will accommodate up to 300 people and the menu will feature local produce, share plates, tapas and more substantial eats including a ‘melt beef’ cheeseburger, brisket sandwich and local mussels with fennel veloute and charred bread, accompanied by an offering of local craft brews.

Stockland general manager Col Dutton said the $5 million foreshore precinct on Idyllic View would become a popular coastal destination.

The developer plans to build a coastal-themed playground with a lighthouse near the bar in 2020.
