The production manager for Ellenby Tree Farm in Gnangara has had a passion for horticulture since the age of 10.
He would research plant varieties each week and note his findings in a journal while nurturing his own pot plant collection.
His achievements include opening a 10-acre production facility for Pine Lake Nursery in Wanneroo and being promoted to his current position at the 70-acre farm.
His future goal is to open his own production site while mentoring the next generation of budding horticulturists.

Nursery and Garden Industry chief executive Peter Vaughan said Mr Spratt had demonstrated exceptional leadership, initiative and passion in the industry.
