He said he had received a great response since opening Funtastic 4 Kids in Wangara on January 2.

“It was something I wanted to do so I could spend more time with my four-year-old and bring her to work,” he said.

Mr Luxford has been hands-on with the project, even building some of the playground equipment himself.

He said he had learnt a lot from visiting other centres and prided Funtastic 4 Kids on being brand new, clean and friendly. “I tried to make a smaller venue; somewhere I could be more personal with customers,” he said.

While his daughter is the centre’s number one fan, Mr Luxford said he was also enjoying the venture.

“It’s been a lot of fun so far,” he said.

“I’m a big kid myself.”
