Businesses doing bit for research

‘Having lost a very dear friend to breast cancer several years ago and also having several other friends who have been touched by cancer in one form or another, I like to find ways to donate to cancer research,’ organiser Jane Hill said.

‘Last year I hosted a Biggest Morning Tea at my home and raised just over $100 and so I decided that I would make that an annual thing.’

Ms Hill, who last year started Little Biz Networking for local mothers running small home businesses, said she mentioned her fundraising to the group and the response was overwhelming.

She aims to raise $500 from this year’s event, which will be held at the Hardware Cafe in Quinns Rocks from 9am to 11am and includes crafts for children and small classes and talks for adults.
