BUSINESSES are being urged to enter this year’s City of Wanneroo Business Awards.

The 17th annual awards, organised by Wanneroo Business Association, recognise the best businesses that have been operating in the area for at least six months, or been members of the association.

Nominees are expected to demonstrate their commitment to the City’s business community.

Entries close noon on October 28, with the winners announced at the City of Wanneroo Business Awards Dinner 2019 on November 15.

Leonardo Castiblanco, whose company Global Company Services trading as Appliance Parts Solutions has won several awards in recent years, encouraged other businesses to enter and get involved in the business association.

Mr Castiblanco said networking had helped him build the company’s profile in the local community and winning awards had helped boost potential customers’ confidence in the services it offered.

“Our customers feel more confident when they look for us on our website,” he said.

The managing director said the Wangara-based company, which repaired appliances and white goods for domestic and commercial customers, had grown significantly, opening a second branch in Clarkson this year.

“I started on my own six years ago in my home,” he said.

“A year later, I opened the Wangara facility.

“In two years, I had eight people working for me; now we are 18 people working together.”

Mr Castiblanco said the growth meant the company now had nine vehicles and the main focus was on “providing excellent customer service all the time”.

He said they focused on customers’ needs and providing flexibility, such as bookings online or through an app as well as by phone or in person, working Saturdays and offering an after hours service.

Mr Castiblanco said they also offered a one-year guarantee on repairs and used genuine parts.
