Former businesswoman of the year to speak about successful strategies

She won the award in the 2013 Telstra business women’s private and corporate sector category.

JBA chief executive Clive Haddow said Ms Barnes had extensive experience leading big scale retail, property finance, corporate and institutional businesses and transforming them to enhance performance.

‘During the global financial crisis, she led a major property business when property values were freefalling, and staff morale and customer engagement plunged to record lows,’ he said.

‘After successfully navigating through the GFC storm, her organisation merged into a larger one and organisational downsizing saw her role become redundant.

‘A believer that ‘every adversity carries with it the seed of an equal advantage’, Tracey seized the opportunity to complete her masters degree, finishing top 25 among Curtin Graduate School of Business MBA students.’
