Staff WriterWanneroo Times

EARLY learners in Tapping visited their future primary schools during a recent excursion.

Goodstart Early Learning’s Tapping centre arranged for children to visit the schools they will attend next year to help ensure the children were ready and confident for the change.

Several parents volunteered to help take children to Tapping Primary School, where the principal welcomed and introduced them to their teacher.

They also took part in outdoor play and a group mat session while mingling with the existing Kindergarten students.

“The move from childcare to school can be a daunting experience and it’s important that every child has the best possible chance of adjusting successfully,” centre director Claire Stannard said.

“Visiting the local schools, and letting children get to experience what the school looks and feels like, will help them to feel comfortable, valued, relaxed and hopefully excited and motivated to learn and make new friends.”

A second visit was arranged to Spring Hill Primary School for children who will attend there.
