Net speeds set to rise

Telstra area general manager Guy Champion said infrastructure in the local exchange had been struggling to meet the demand in Wanneroo and Burns Beach for fast internet at certain times.

‘We’ve listened to local residents who want more consistent access to higher internet speeds and the opportunity to use some of our premium products,’ he said.

‘We’re very excited that this upgrade will allow many people to have a more consistent speed experience when using their ADSL service, either at home or at work.’

According to Telstra, some customers might not receive the expected internet speeds due to their distance from the exchange, their equipment and whether they are served by the specific parts of the exchange that were upgraded.
