A charity category has been added to the 2016 Telstra Business Awards, and nominations for all awards are open until March 23.
Business group managing director Will Irving said the awards that celebrate achievements of small and medium businesses were in their 24th year.
“This year, we welcome the new charity award category into the fold as we continue to update the awards program to reflect current business trends,” he said.

The telecommunications provider is encouraging communities to nominate local businesses and charities such as the Pat Giles Centre in Joondalup.
The women’s refuge chief executive Kedy Kristal welcomed the initiative and a donation of 30 mobile phones from the Joondalup store manager Rina Bhabra last week.
“This new Telstra award is raising awareness of the amazing work that charities are doing, usually behind the scenes,” she said.
“It will give these groups an opportunity to shine and get more people involved in making a contribution to this important group of businesses.”
The Pat Giles Centre has been operating since 1989 and assists women and children who are victims of domestic violence.
