Wangara-based Bosch Timber Floors designed the creative feature floor, announced as joint winners of Floor of the Year (commercial site installed) at the Australian Timber Flooring Association 2014 National Awards for Excellence.

‘We took matters into our own hands and created a stunning timber floor in the foyer of our office,’ general manager Richard Catlin said.

‘This allowed us to use creative flair and show customers just what is possible with a timber floor.’

Mr Catlin said they used jarrah and marri as the main two timbers as they provided a good contrast.

‘We also used some Sydney blue gum in the border rope weave as we needed a third colour timber to create the look effectively,’ he said.

Bosch Timber Floors enlisted help from two other northern suburbs timber flooring contractors, with Rick Pagnacco from Joondalup-based Wicked Wood hand cutting and installing hundreds of individual timber pieces and Mark Taylor, of Ocean Reef business Niche Timber Flooring, finishing the project by sanding, filling and coating the floor.

‘We were elated to win the award and felt that it was a great reward for the efforts and creativity of the guys we work with,’ Mr Catlin said.
