OzSpy franchisee Michael Stewart said one of its latest items was an anti-theft fog machine called Smoke Cloak. "If criminals were to break in after-hours or even during hours and you press the distress alarm, the room will fill with fog," he said.

"It's the same fog you get on a dance floor but with a jet propulsion so it would fill my shop in less than five seconds.

"You can't steal if you can't see.

"In the future, we plan to do commercial demonstrations for business owners."

He said OzSpy was most common for its range of CCTV items but other objects included covert watches and clocks, spy pens, GPS trackers and night vision items.
