Lucy JarvisWanneroo Times

The group took part in Coles’ ‘first steps’ program in September and October, then were offered positions at supermarkets in Clarkson, Wanneroo, Joondalup, Banksia Grove, Beldon, Greenwood or Hillarys.

The pre-employment and mentoring program trains Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who have been out of the workforce for some time, or not employed before.

All graduates were guaranteed a permanent, part-time role in the service, fresh produce, product replenishment, deli or grocery sections.
