The dance teacher said she started by printing a notice on a shopping centre board, and now had 1500 students.
Mrs Chater said she was branching out to create franchises that some of her students could operate, and had also created a brand of dancewear that is sold at just above cost.
She said she developed a dance expo to bring the dance industry together, and held the first at Sacred Heart College ” within 12 months it was so big it moved to Challenge Stadium.
Mrs Chater said she happened to check her junk email folder about midnight on a Saturday and saw a request from a Broadway dance company that wanted to attend.
The Talent Co Dance and Entertainment founding director recently won the Joondalup Business Association’s business of the year award and the best local activity at the International Junior What’s On For Kids Awards.
