THE annual Mindarie Festival this weekend follows success of its host, The Marina, Mindarie, at several recent awards events.
The marina manager and venue operator won the tourism and hospitality business of the year title at the 2019 City of Wanneroo Business Awards last weekend.
The November 15 recognition followed its success at the 2019 Australian Hotels Association and Aon Hospitality Awards for Excellence on November 11, where it claimed three awards.
It was named Perth’s best hospitality venue as well as winning best community service award and the best environmental and energy efficiency practice category.
Director of operations David Bornmann said he was incredibly proud of his team.
“To win best hospitality venue Perth is a huge honour and is a reflection of the care, attention to detail and enthusiasm shown by everyone at The Marina, Mindarie,” he said.
“To win this award twice in three years says volumes about the experience The Marina, Mindarie offers our visitors.”
Other northern suburbs winners included Whitfords Brewing Company in Hillarys for the bar presentation and service award, and Angelina Bellingham from White Salt in Sorrento who won the food and beverage services employee award.
Varsity Bar in Joondalup was a joint winner for the sporting entertainment venue award with Crown Sports Bar in Burswood.
In early November, The Pavilion at The Marina, Mindarie took out the best waterfront venue category at Perth’s 2019 Brides Choice Awards, which acknowledged businesses that exceeded the expectations of their brides.
The Mindarie Festival will be on November 24 from noon-5pm at 33 Ocean Falls Boulevard.
The free event will include market stalls, street food stalls, roving performers, children’s activities and carnival rides, DJs and live bands.
The Marina, Mindarie recently added Italian restaurant Ritrovo to dining options at the marina, and already runs Indian Ocean Brewing Co, Cabana, The Boat and the hotel.
