THE first stage of Wanneroo Central’s $20 million redevelopment, including the Aldi supermarket, will open in mid-June.

Charter Hall Retail REIT announced today that the first stage and the supermarket would open on June 13.

In the dining precinct, Flame 400 Burgers will join Funky Mexican Cantina and Hogs Breath Café, which were announced in April.

Smokemart, Headquarters Beauty and Priceless will open within the mall, while existing tenants, T Life and National Hearing Care will relocate to the expanded part of the centre.

Children’s entertainer Peppa Pig is due to appear in the centre on June 13 from 10am to 2pm, while Ben and Holly characters will be there on June 16 as part of the opening celebrations.

Charter Hall’s head of retail development Yvette Keatings said more tenancies would be announced in coming weeks and the centre would be “a space where the community can come together to shop, dine and connect”.

“With ALDI, T Life and Flame 400 Burgers opening on June 13, closely followed by all remaining stores, we are creating a strong convenience offer for our valued shoppers,” she said.

“In conjunction with the centre’s first stage opening, we look forward to finalising the community mural located within the centre’s north car park.

The official opening of Wanneroo Central is scheduled in August, coinciding with the opening of the dining precinct and town square.
