Crowds at the launch of TruckStop in Hillarys exceeded organisers’ expectations.

LARGER than expected crowds filled Whitfords Nodes Park on Sunday for the Hillarys launch of TruckStop.

Starting at 4pm, the food van market was soon at capacity and operating on a one-in-one-out basis.

Organisers announced during the evening that next Sunday’s event would be expanded.

“Last week’s crowds at our Whitfords Nodes launch was much larger than expected and we have since been overwhelmed with feedback,” Sunset Events organiser David Chitty said.

“We are planning to extend the space to utilise as much of the permitted park area as outlined through our approved council agreements and there will be more delicious food trucks on offer.

“We’ll also have Eftpos available at the bar and from selected vendors.

“However, we recommend you treat this event as a cash-only event so you don’t get caught out.”

TruckStop will be at Whitfords Nodes Park from 4pm to 9pm every Sunday until Christmas as well as the Perth Cultural Centre on Fridays and Saturdays. It combines street food, craft beer and cider, local wine, local live music and DJs and visual arts in a retro-themed setting.

Events include free entry and are open to people of all ages.
