Performed as part of The Feminine Touch season, the adult black comedy follows the story of Cinderella.

‘In The Broken Slipper, Cinderella appears before the fairytale tribunal as she has broken the rules by fleeing her story and refusing to marry Prince Charming,’ Wall said.

‘The tribunal includes Snow White and the Wicked Witch and as Cinderella’s fate is decided, the breaking of rules becomes infectious.’

Inspired by the stories of others, Wall said her works touched on her experiences.

‘Like many playwrights, there’s always a little bit of me in some of the characters in my works,’ she said.

Wall said over the years she had learnt to conform less to expectations of others, with marrying her husband twice after a 10-year divorce period as one example.

The two other one-act plays part of The Feminine Touch are Snakes and Ladders, a tale of family secrets, and Level 12, a humorous play.

The Feminine Touch is at Stirling Theatre, Innaloo, from October 23 to November 1.
