ASHDALE Secondary College will recreate Disney’s smash hit movie High School Musical in its Galileo Theatre this week.

The musical tells the story of Troy, Gabriella and the students of East High and how they must deal with issues of love, friends and family while balancing their classes and extracurricular activities.

More than 50 students and staff have spent the past six months preparing as cast, crew and musicians to stage the show.

“Many students found acting, singing and dancing a challenge, however, they all rose to the challenges and their confidence has grown,” head of arts Terry Pirlo said.

“The college production showcases the talented arts students here at Ashdale Secondary College and I have thoroughly enjoyed working alongside such a talented group of students who make up the cast and crew.”

Principal Kylie Bottcher said the production allowed students to perform in front of the community and demonstrate the hard work each cast and crew member had committed to for the past six months.

Ashdale Secondary College is excited to bring this upbeat movie musical that is fun for the whole family,” she said.

Performances will be held from August 8 to 10. Book tickets here.
