Alexander Heights artist Judy Rogers and City Beach’s Alix Korte met through a mutual respect for each other’s work and discovered a shared love of the ocean.

Rogers said developing the Salt exhibition with Korte was a rewarding experience.

‘We have a lot of similarity in our upbringing, sense of humour, outlook on life and endless energy in art making,’ she said.

‘We are both migrants and love to live in Perth, and this was mainly the base of the exhibition’s subject.’

Korte, a book designer by trade, and Rogers, a curator, said the Kidogo Art House Fremantle beachside venue was an ideal location for the exhibition.

‘Salt is an exhibition of all things to do with the shore of the Indian Ocean, showing Korte’s oil paintings and my mixed media installations,’ Rogers said.

‘The show is a representation of our every day life; we are painting images of subjects relating to the ocean or images that just make us happy.’

The exhibition opens November 14, 6.30pm and continues Wednesday to Sunday, 10am to 4pm, until November 25.
