NEARLY 40 young local performers are taking to the stage this week in the Australian Performing Arts Network’s performance of Grease.

They were chosen from more than 250 who auditioned in March. Hocking residents Natasha Klarich and Rachel Moore will play the roles of Cha Cha and Patty Simcox respectively, while Butler’s Tyson Bell will appear as T-Birds member Sonny.

Another 33 northern suburbs youths form part of the core cast and ensemble who will perform alongside Home and Away’s Lynne McGranger and Carmelo Pizzino from Dancing with the Stars.

It opens this Friday at The Regal Theatre and runs until September 4.
