Heartfelt concert

Mr Parker died from cancer last year but the choir, led by his daughter Rachel as conductor, will reprise his final concert, From our Hearts to Yours.

Iluka resident Jennifer Williamson-Habibi has been part of the choir for more than 20 years and said the concert would feature a mix of the choir's favourite songs with some original compositions by Mr Parker that had not been performed before.

"We want to honour Greg and keep his music alive. It's a coming together of many different artists who have worked with and loved Greg," she said.

Visual artist Phil Doncon and Perth singer-songwriter Shameem Taheri-Lee will be some of the special guests featured in the concert.

"For me personally, this is a really lovely tribute to a good friend and wonderful musician who gave so much of his time to uplift the community," Williamson-Habibi said.

"It's been very emotional and very strange for others in the choir to get together without Greg but in other ways it has been very joyous" it's important for us to honour Greg in this way."

Mr Parker's wife Malini said she hoped the concert would pay tribute to the unique legacy left by her husband.

"It is my honour to be staging this production in Greg's memory," she said.

"He was an incredible human, whose spirit and fire touched the lives of thousands of people."

From our Hearts to Yours 2015 will be held on July 18 and 19 at the RNDM Performing Arts Centre at Sacred Heart College in Sorrento. For tickets, visit http://newerachoir. com.
