Landsdale resident Kaylene Bederson created a clay and acrylic sculpture while at Mindarie Senior College last year, which is about half a metre tall and called Survivor.

An oil painting by Hillarys resident and Hale School graduate Christopher Corlett, Summer Days, will also feature in the exhibition.

Gallery director Stefano Carboni said the works explored a breadth of themes such as personal identity, concern for the environment and society, and the journey to adulthood.

Visitors to the gallery will be able to vote for their favourite piece in the Santos Year 12 Perspectives people’s choice award.

Voting will close on April 27, and artworks will be included in an online gallery at artgallery.wa.gov.au/exhibitions/Year-12-Perspectives-2013.asp.
