Master Date: Carramar band The Date to release new album tomorrow

CARRAMAR musician David Moran says his band’s latest album marks a change from their previous work.

He and Rob Susanto started The Date in 2009 and will release their third record Master Date tomorrow.

Moran said it was a focused and well-crafted album that saw a change in their creation process and pushed the boundaries musically.

It is based on the loss of law and order in society and searching for someone lost.

“While humanity has never been more connected (social media), the one-on-one conversation of family and friends and physical proximity to them cannot be taken for granted or replaced by 140 characters,” he said.

“The songs on the album look at the various personalities you meet in life and how they deal with the physical space between them…and in some instances how they try to increase it.”
