When women get the blues

WI stands for the Womens Institute in the UK which was founded in 1915 to revitalise rural communities and encourage women to become more involved in producing food during World War I.

In the play, Grace, played by Endeavours Denise Mignon, is hosting an unofficial Womens Institute meeting to discuss the threat to the organisation by the wrong sort of people in the village.

Unfortunately, it turns out that her husband isnt just out for the evening he has gone for good, Endeavour president Christine Evans said.

Then as the evening progresses, other secrets come out and no-one is quite what they seem.

This is a drama with plenty of comedy to keep you entertained.

The production of The WI Blues, written by John Peel, marks Evans return to the stage after a few years.

I am really enjoying rehearsals and looking forward to our live performances, she said.

The play starts on May 15 and there will be five performances.
