HAS Transperth realised its bus stop benches might not be the world’s most comfortable places to wait for the arrival of its public transport?
The appearance of a reclining chair at this stop in Kingsway, Madeley, suggests it is experimenting with more luxurious trappings for its users.
However, it’s probably not the case.
The chair, somewhat threadbare but still with its reclining mechanism, was put out on the sidewalk a few days earlier, complete with a footstool.
Nobody took the chair, but the footstool disappeared within a few days – and a good samaritan moved the chair to a more appropriate position, alongside the hard bench at the bus stop.
Still, it’s something Transperth might consider, especially in suburbs favoured by the older generation. Such as Madeley.
