Access concerns in estate plan

The structure plan proposal lapsed last month after councillors expressed concern that one road in and out of the area could hinder emergency access.

A modified council report said the Department of Fire and Emergency Services and Main Roads WA were not satisfied with emergency access to the area and suggested a second access route.

City staff said that as the information contained in a bushfire management plan (BMP) was not satisfactory, the plan should be excluded from the structure plan and modified before subdivision of the site.
