With four-year-old Jackson Field, who was diagnosed with leukaemia last October, presently undergoing intensive chemotherapy at Princess Margaret Hospital, mum Donna said they wanted to ‘raise awareness and funds to find less invasive treatments and ultimately a cure to ensure our beautiful boy has every chance to live a healthy, happy and long life’.
Last Sunday, team Action For Jackson hosted a morning tea where Jackson, dad Wayde, Woodvale Secondary College student Lachlan Dyson and Woodvale Primary School student Zavier Dickson shaved their heads while Mrs Field and other family members and friends coloured their hair in support.
The Moolanda Care and Learning Centre in Kingsley, where Jackson attended three days a week before he was diagnosed with leukaemia, also held a fundraising event last Friday with The Moovers and Shavers raising almost $7000.
