Alexander Heights siege: police charge man

A MAN has been charged with drugs and weapons offences after police sieges on Thursday involving properties in Alexander Heights, Beechboro and Nollamara.

Police have accused the 42-year-old Alexander Heights man of two counts of possessing a firearm in circumstances of aggravation, one count of possessing an unlicensed firearm, a separate count of possessing an unlicensed firearm with drugs or cash and one count of drug possession.

Goldsworthy Entrance was swarming with police through the middle of the day as the Tactical Response Group, detectives and the canine unit honed in on the Alexander Heights home.

A police chopper hovered overhead.

The raid began as part of an investigation into reports of a woman’s abduction from a home in Nollamara.

The victim was later found uninjured at a Beechboro property on Small Street.

Police are still investigating the woman’s abduction, having arrested several people.
