Wanneroo Mayor Tracey Roberts helped to honour long-time members Joe and Sylvia Brennan who married in Wigan, England, on December 10, 1943.
The couple received commemorative certificates, a cake and flowers.
London-born Sylvia and Joe, who hails from Kilkenny, met in Coventry in 1942.
Joe was visiting from Blackpool, where he worked on fishing trawlers.

They have six children (four in England and two in Australia), 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, plus two due, and a great-great-grandchild.
